This is HUGE: Read this....Let it sink in and let us, as a generation set ablaze a passion for the glory of God. This is not religion, this is a relationship. If you cannot say this is passionate exaltation for Who He is, ask yourself why...Because it is about much more than going through the motions-
Scores of people in Bible-teaching churches today profess faith in Christ, yet their hearts lack a vital, passionate, fervent love for the Savior. Their worship is dutiful, not delightful; their speech about God is distant rather than personal. But we assure these people of their salvation. We imply, in how we preach and pray and Evangeline, that walking an aisle or praying a prayer is equal to regeneration. And we will answer to God for our neglect of the true, biblical gospel.
Once again, this is to be an open forum, if you have thoughts, if God is stirring the inner chambers of your soul, expound on this forum- people read this, together, let us seek to pursue Him with Whole hearts, not broken, dissolved, lethargic and inconsistent attempts to meet the "quota"...

The one question I always love to ask myself is "what is the point?" Why do i worship God? Why do i get involved in church? Why read the Bible and pursue a relationship with Christ? What is the point? I know these are selfish questions, but questions that i believe need to be answered to fully follow Christ. I believe that once someones point or purpose is clearly shown, Christianity will halt being a religion, and become the life changing relationship Christ meant it to be. So my question to whoever else comments on this sight is, what is mans purpose? I dont want some nice Christian lingo, but a real, absolute purpose that will change lives. Please answer my question!!!
I like the comment you posted with all those questions about "what is the point?" That's a good starting point for getting to the heart of what Christianity is. Hey, have you ever read The Divine Conspiracy? If not, try to get your hands on it. It's an amazing book that I think hits the nail on the head about the point of Christianity. Anyway, on to your question about man's purpose. Funny how the thing most critical to our existence (our purpose) seems to be so blurry. Well I believe God created us so that He could share all good things with us. I believe He created us so that more people (besides himself) could experience all the good things that He inherently has or is (like love, pleasure, happiness, wholeness, etc). Of course, our fallen condition has thrown us waaaaay off course from His original plan. So day in and day out we seek these things, each person by his own means but hopefully through and with God. But we cannot truly experience these things unless we come into restored relationship with God. I think Adam's purpose was easy: just enjoy life and be in intimate relation with God. He screwed that up (and who wouldn't). So now OUR purpose is to get back to God's original plan for man. And in order to experience all the things he originally intended, we must come into right relationship with God through Christ. Of course, we can't come anything close to the Garden of Eden while we're here on earth. That awaits in eternity. But we respond to God's relentless pursuit of us and in turn, He lets us experience Him and all the good that He has and is. We catch glimpses of Him and Heaven. We, as vessels and ambassadors of the living God, take part in His "divine conspiracy" to overcome evil and return to His original plan. That's what I believe is man's purpose. :)
