Come Forth as Gold
"Thou hast formed us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in Thee"
Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God

Letting Go

"The weakest saint can experience the power of the Diety of the Son of God if once he is willing to "let go". Any strand of our own energy will blur the life of Jesus. We have to keep letting go, and slowly and surely the great full life of God will invade us in every part, and men will take knowledge of us that we have been with Jesus."
-Oswald Chambers

does life ever seem like a constant attempt of facing challenges and then learning to let them go-one by one? It has to been as of late. But how does one "let go"? I keep coming back to Psalm 55:22, "Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you." Why is it so much easier for us to "hold my burden tightly and try to sustain myself?" Chambers also says, "...burdens placed on us by God which He does not intend to lift off, He wants us to roll them back on Him." We are also to roll ourselves into His arms...and in that companionship, the burden is lifted.

Just a few thoughts at 6a.m. in the morning. ~

The Joy of the Lord is my strength. Thank you Father for being a provider and protector -

Maybe, like you touched on, we're not supposed to let go. There must be something else to it than mere surrender, possibly even more to this "rolling those burdens back" on God that Chambers talks about". It just seems too easy to discuss the dynamics of fighting ourselves as we cling to the burdens circumstances so generously offer; however, that is not what we need to be fighting. I think by putting our individual battles in the context of THE bigger picture, victory will quickly find us.

An initial reaction.

Kate,
"We" is a pluralistic stance refering possibly to the mystical union with Christ. Should "we" ever say the word "I"? It's so singular and self-centered. I do not like much the ideals of post-enlightment thought, prior to such times no one refered to themselves as "I" it's such a vain thing to do. :-)
Actually I just put we cause if someone visits and posts comments I think there is plurality in the beneficents. So yeah......
We can get your blog some sweet stuff let me know what you want done with it and I can toy around with it. Maybe this weekend I will work on a sweet layout for you.
